Freya wins 3rd prize in John Muir Trust Wildlife Poetry Competition!

A huge well done to Freya McCarthy who got 3rd place for her poem – How to make a wild day on Eigg.

First, look out of the window and see lovely red leaves of a autumn sycamore tree.

Next, melt the orange sunset as you swim in the shining sea.

Then, pinch the petals of a marigold by a rushing river.

After that, melt the green moss from a pine tree.

Now, stir the blue drops of dew in the morning into the mixture.

Once that’s done, sprinkle heather over the top.

Finally, grate a violet flower and fold it in.

Pack a perfect picnic, best served with fantastic friends.
