Visit to the tree nursery

Ness: We planted tiny tiny tiny trees.

Colm: They are called saplings.

Ness: We needed to get a little tree from the pot. You make a little hole with your dabber and then you put a little tree in it and then you get some muck and then you fill the hole.

Colm: Then you firm the soil. I think we planted hazel trees. There were also aspen trees, birch and oak in the tunnel. I think I also saw spruce. The soil was quite rough and Mr. MacInnes got a pick-axe and started to bang down stone. The trees are going to grow into big trees.

Ness: All the children also got to plant our own tree at home. I planted mine right next to the house.

Colm: We took home hazel trees. My tree is in a planter. I think that the tree will ventuallly get too big for the planter.
