Tennis Club – Colm

I decided to do tennis club as part of my junior leader award. It started with rugby club, but we decided not to because all the other kids thought we would do proper rugby and not touch rugby. So we never got to the first session. So I decided to do tennis club instead.
This was a change for the better I’d say, because a lot more people are into tennis and also it got me into tennis. It made me and Oran want to practice a lot more. We play a lot.
At tennis club, we did tennis doubles. In doubles, it was me and Ness against Arlo and Jess. And we won four games to zero. On the other pitch, it was Oran and Ross against Ellis and Aila. Oran and Ross won.
Everybody took part.
Tennis club takes place on a Tuesday after lunch time. If someone doesn’t want to play, they can go inside to do some work. If they do want to play, they usually just go onto the team they played before. But if they didn’t play the previous week, they go onto a different pitch.
I did quite enjoy it, it was actually quite fun. And it was one of the few clubs I have started and I don’t feel like the boss of it. It is just for every ordinary person to have fun. And they did! And if anyone moves to Eigg suddenly, then they’ll be more than welcome to join the tennis club. It is for Primary and High school children, if they ever want to play, specifically Tadhgan, Innes, Maggie, Freya and Agnes.
I CAN’T WAIT TIL NEXT WEEK!

Book Club – Violet

I started book club, it’s every Tuesday after school. We stay there for an hour, so from 3 – 4.
When Colm is doing his tennis club, I set up book club. I make cosy spaces and get all the pillows out. I design it how I would like to have it.
Next time, we are going to have a book review. We are going to have a little notebook, and everyone is going to write what they thought about book club, how their book made them feel and what their books were, all the books they read or looked at.
Everyone enjoyed it. Ness gave me a double thumbs up, she said that book club was awesome. I feel quite good, because I was worried it was going to be a failure.
Most children came and evveryone loved it. Hopefully next time, everybody will come so that they don’t miss out.
I read 3 books from Jackie Morris, they are the most beautiful books in the whole world. They are about strange worlds and things like that, and they are all water colour and there is so much detail in the water colour. But she really captures the animals and the words are really poetic.
