Day trip to the Isle of Rum

on

Written by P 2 and Early Years learners

On Monday, we went on the ferry to go to the Isle of Rum. When we got to Rum, we had a walk through the woods and looked at the old ruins and a grave. There was an old fisherman washed up on the beach, so they dug a grave for him.

We also went to the otter hide. Unfortunately, we didn’t see any otters. We particularly saw seagulls, not much else.

Then we went back to the school and had snack and then went outside and did the obstacle course.

We made 2 obstacle courses. We were on separate teams. Lots of people were on one team and then me and Jess, and others had a team. It wasn’t competitive, just 2 teams building an obstacle course. We used tyres, crates, blocks, hoolahoops and some baskets, things like that. It was fun making the obstacle course.

We also played with the Rum children a tiny bit.

P2 Learner: I cant remember all the names of all the mountains on Rum. There is Trolaval, Askival and Hallival. This is the view of Rum from my house.

I liked building the obstacle courses, the fun in building them was also playing on them.

Early Years Learner: This is Rum beach on a sunny day.

I liked jumping on the tyres and baskets.

This is the obstacle course we made.
