The Manse wood tree trip

on

Agnes

We went to the Manse Wood. We met up with Tasha, Ms Hollands, Kitty, Babette, Ms McGilp, and Coby the dog. He is so cute. We went into the woods and were looking for poles with red ribbons on. When we found one we got a spade, a hammer, a guard, a plant and a wooden stick. Then we dug a hole. Then we put the sapling in and we made sure it was firm in the ground. We squashed the soil with our feet. We put a pole next to the sapling and a guard over the plant to stop the rabbits eating it.

We planted hazel trees.

We could check the trees every year or so, to see if the rabbits have been eating them.

We learned about blood bubbles. When someone is using a dangerous tool they have to have a blood bubble so that if anyone goes inside it the person shouts blood bubble. Just in case they get hurt.

We all had to pick a tree and we had to look up at it and think about what it might be feeling, what it looks like and everything about it. I thought about how cold it might be because of the wind. The tree was quite mossy, it didn’t have any leaves on it yet. I think it was an ash tree. I felt happy thinking about the tree.

We made a cave out of a tree which had fallen over. It was really fun. It was so cosy, it was dribbling water though.

We planted trees. We got spades and little plants that we put in the hole.

Maybe the rabbits could still get in though.

I felt happy looking up at the tree. My tree was moving in the wind. I think it liked it.
