Our visit to the orchard

Arlo

When we arrived at the orchard we gathered by the shed and we spoke about safety. We had to make sure that we don’t fall into the brambles. There was a specific path to the school trees. We turn right at the shed.

We learned all the names of the different trees. There was a plum tree and lots of apple trees. One of them was a Katy apple. There was also a cherry tree but there were no cherries on it. I tasted some big green hard crunchy apples and some quite sour tasty yummy apples.

We learned how to pick apples. To check if they are ready we turn them two times. If the apple comes off the branch it is ripe and ready eat. If it doesn’t come off we go and find another apple. We picked most of the apples. There are only some tiny little ones left.

When we got back to the school we made Jack’o Lanterns out of some of the apples.

I loved the gigantic big forest and the tree climbing. Me and Colm weaved some branches to make a little home. We played in the house.

I ate 3 apples at the orchard. They tasted sweet and juicy. I really liked twisting the apples and eating them.

There were wasps in the shed where the apples were stored. The wasps eat apples all the time when they are really hungry and they make wasps nest so they can sleep. We needed to get out of that house so that we didn’t get stung.
